Did you know that we have under 8 years to reduce our CO2 emissions before it’s too late to reverse the effects we have had on this planet? I will not have even graduated college. Here are some tips to start reducing these emissions.
- 2400 pounds of C02 can be saved from entering the atmosphere every year by recycling household items. Buy minimal plastic packaging and always, less plastic.
- Obviously less driving = less emissions, but by having you tires properly inflates keeps gas mileage up by as much as 3%. Every gallon saved is 20 less pounds in the atmosphere. If everyone that owned a car did that, 20 billion pounds of emissions will be saved.
- Use less hot water. So much energy is being wasted by heating the water that buying low-flow shower heads to save hot waster means over 350 pounds of C02 is saved from being dumped into the atmosphere.
- Planting trees not only makes the environment around you more beautiful but one tree can recycle one ton of C02 into 02 yearly.
- Don’t randomly flush the toilet. A single flush can use up to 12 gallons of water that can be put to better use.
Turn off lights when not in use. Turn off devices when not in use. Don’t leave water running. These warnings are so basic that nobody follows them. Reduce your carbon emissions. Let your kids and their kids have a bright future on this planet that is scientifically one out of a million billion billion other planets in the universe. Don’t neglect and reject our home.
